Service for the determination and measurement of tactile properties
A determining factor for the quality of products is their surface. Therefore, surfaces within the framework of object quality, must not only meet certain safety standards and norms, but must also reflect a special haptic feeling which is a subjectively touch quality.
In the past, materials and their surfaces were described as “froggy”. But not every person understands the term “froggy”, it is a subjective description.
ZIEGLER-Instruments has therefore developed a measurement system that allows to measure typical haptic descriptors and correlates those results with the TouchFeel reference system to objectively determine and measure the tactile properties of a surface
A so-called haptic fingerprint is created from the results of the measurement. Different materials can be compared using the haptic fingerprint.
This allows a person to express more clearly how a surface should feel. It also helps to suggest appropriate alternatives.
